A Turkish worker of the Swedish Consulate in Izmir in western Turkey was recovering in a hospital on Wednesday after being injured in a gun assault on the workplace within the port metropolis.

The suspect had come to the consulate for a visa utility, the information company DHA stated.
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc condemned the assault in a social media put up.
