Hail battered a Delta Air Strains passenger jet sure for New York shortly after taking off from Milan on Monday, forcing it to divert safely to Rome’s predominant airport, Italian media and the airline stated.
The plane sustained injury to its nostril and on the fuselage close to the wings, Italian media stated.

In line with Delta, Flight DL185 “from Milan to New York JFK (was) diverted to Rome after encountering extreme climate after take-off.” A Delta assertion did not specify the type of injury.

The airplane had taken off from Milan’s Malpensa airport.

“The flight landed safely and passengers deplaned usually. The plane sustained some injury in the course of the unhealthy climate which is being reviewed by our native upkeep workforce,″ the airline’s assertion stated.
Delta did not say what number of passengers and crew have been aboard the flight, nor whether or not they have been booked on one other flight Monday or might need to spend the evening in Rome after touchdown at Leonardo da Vinci airport.
