Tennis official in Wyoming resigns in protest of trans athlete’s participation in women’s category

The president of a Wyoming tennis association has resigned in protest of the group’s resolution to permit a transgender faculty athlete to take part within the 2023 Wyoming Governor’s Cup, citing honest competitors.

“I really feel unhappy this girl has resigned over this,” Ross stated. “I really feel like there’s no purpose to.”

Peg Connor, government director and district league coordinator for america Tennis Affiliation’s Wyoming chapter, offered Fox Information Digital with the USTA’s assertion on transgender athletes when reached for remark.

The USTA’s transgender inclusion coverage states that trans athletes can compete within the ladies’s class if they’ve “declared that her gender identification is feminine” and that “the declaration can’t be modified, for sporting functions, for no less than 4 years.”
