Phillies legend Cole Hamels retires from MLB after 15 seasons

Philadelphia Phillies legend Cole Hamels, who gained a World Collection and was named NLCS MVP and World Collection MVP in 2008, has retired. 

The San Diego Padres positioned Hamels, who has not pitched for the workforce this season, on the voluntarily retired checklist Friday. 

Padres right-hander Craig Stammen was additionally added to that checklist.

Hamels ends an MLB profession that spans 15 years with 4 All-Star video games and a profession 3.43 ERA in 2,698 innings.
