Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks bemoans perceived ‘villain’ label, believes it’s why he was ejected in Game 3

Memphis Grizzlies ahead Dillon Brooks has talked an unlimited quantity of trash within the first three video games of the playoff sequence in opposition to the Los Angeles Lakers. In Recreation 3, he was ejected after hitting LeBron James within the groin space.

“The media making me a villain, the followers making me a villain, after which that simply creates an entire completely different persona on me,” Brooks stated by way of ESPN. “So, now you assume I meant to hit LeBron James within the nuts. I am taking part in basketball. I am a basketball participant. So, if I meant – and that is no matter is within the flagrant 2 class – when you assume I did that, which means you assume I am that kind of individual.”

Brooks reportedly received’t be subject to further discipline.

“I knew I wasn’t going to be,” he stated. “They cannot dictate this sequence like that. [Referee Mark Davis] in all probability needed to name that due to what occurred [in Game 3] with James Harden, and that is simply unfair. I get penalized, and I am unable to assist my staff attempt to make a comeback within the second half.”

James Harden was ejected from Recreation 3 of the Philadelphia 76ers’ sequence in opposition to the Brooklyn Nets for his personal groin faucet on Royce O’Neale.

The trash-talking with James started when he referred to as the Lakers star “previous” after Memphis’ Recreation 2 win.
