Georgetown University mascot Jack the Bulldog dies at age 4: ‘Brought joy to thousands’

Georgetown University mascot Jack the Bulldog died on the age of 4, the college introduced on Monday.

“With a heavy coronary heart, we share the unhappy information that our beloved Jack the Bulldog has gone over the Rainbow Bridge after a quick sickness,” Georgetown College informed Fox Information Digital. “Please maintain all who cared for and liked him so dearly in your ideas and prayers.”

“Since 2019, Jack has introduced pleasure to 1000’s of members of the Georgetown household along with his ever-ready high-paws, his skill to run and drive on the basketball courtroom and his real love for everybody massive and small,” the college added.

Jack, whose official identify was John F. Carroll, was born on January 24, 2019, in Alberta, Canada. According to Georgetown’s website, he liked consuming blueberries and strawberries and enjoying along with his armadillo toy.

Jack was introduced onto campus in July 2019 after the earlier Jack, who was within the mascot place since 2013, retired.

The mascot’s webpage stated that Jack was walked on Georgetown’s campus a number of instances a day and was a beloved presence at campus occasions. He was cared for by college students and campus workers.

“The Jack Crew is accountable for strolling Jack in the course of the day and night and for escorting him to numerous occasions on campus,” Georgetown’s website defined. “College students are requested to use to change into members of the Jack Crew earlier than strolling Jack.”
