EU gives green light to revamp of Europe’s main climate policy

BRUSSELS: EU international locations on Tuesday gave the ultimate approval to the largest revamp to this point of Europe’s carbon market, which is ready to make it extra expensive to pollute and sharpen the 27-member bloc’s predominant instrument for reducing carbon dioxide emissions. 

The world’s first main carbon buying and selling system has since 2005 compelled energy vegetation and factories to purchase permits once they emit CO2, and has lower emissions from these sectors by 43 %.
