Premier League assistant referee sidelined after elbowing Liverpool defender in the face, FA investigates

An assistant referee in Sunday’s match between Liverpool and Arsenal has been sidelined indefinitely because the Soccer Affiliation (FA) conducts an investigation into an incident involving defender Andy Robertson who was seemingly elbowed within the face by the official.

The Skilled Sport Match Officers Restricted (PGMOL) introduced Monday that assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis wouldn’t be assigned to any video games because the FA conducts its investigation into the incident that happened simply because the halftime whistle was blown in Sunday’s 2-2 draw.

“PGMOL is not going to be appointing Constantine Hatzidakis to fixtures in any of the competitions it serves while The FA investigates the incident involving the assistant referee and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at Anfield,” the assertion learn.

The 29-year-old Scottish participant approached Hatzidakis after the halftime whistle was blown, however cameras caught the official increase his arm and hit Robertson someplace close to his jaw along with his elbow.

Robertson, who gestured that he had been hit by the official, was finally led away by teammates and acquired a yellow card.

“I do know it occurred however I didn’t watch it,” Liverpool supervisor Jurgen Klopp mentioned Sunday. “If it occurred the photographs will converse for themselves.”

Regardless of the incident, Liverpool managed to climb again from 2-0 to attract at 2-2, with Roberto Firmino scoring the 87th-minute equalizer.
