Chinese fighter jet caught on video intercepting US Aircraft over South China Sea: ‘unnecessarily aggressive’

A Chinese language fighter jet was captured on video intercepting a U.S. plane Thursday over the South China Sea

U.S. Indo-Pacific Command stated a People’s Republic of China J-16 fighter pilot carried out an “unnecessarily aggressive maneuver” whereas intercepting a U.S. Air Power RC-135 plane.

Video supplied by USINDOPACOM reveals the PRC pilot flying about 400 ft in entrance of the RC-135 spy airplane, forcing it to fly by way of the wake turbulence of the Chinese language jet. 

USINDOPACOM stated the American spy plane was conducting “protected and routine operations” over the South China Sea in worldwide airspace in accordance with worldwide legislation.

“The U.S. will proceed to fly, sail, and function – security and responsibly – wherever worldwide legislation permits, and the U.S. Indo-Pacific Joint Power will proceed to fly in worldwide airspace with due regard for the protection of all vessels and plane below worldwide legislation,” USINDOPACOM said in a statement

“We count on all nations within the Indo-Pacific area to make use of worldwide airspace safely and in accordance with worldwide legislation.”
